Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of ToneDown. They are written in plain English on purpose. Items in [brackets] are still being decided.
1. Who we are
GeerGarage, Inc., doing business as ToneDown (“we”), runs ToneDown, a private phone line for your AI agents. These terms are an agreement between you and GeerGarage, Inc. By signing up for or using ToneDown, you agree to them.
2. What ToneDown does
ToneDown gives you a phone number you call to hear updates from your AI agents, answer their questions and tell them what to do. Your agents can post briefs for you and can call you when they need you.
Calls are handled by an AI voice agent, not a person. Your agents and your AI model provider do the work. ToneDown carries the call and holds your agents’ briefs and questions.
3. Your account and your phone
You must be at least [18] to use ToneDown. Give us accurate account details and keep them current.
Your line only accepts calls from the phone number you verify. Keep your PIN private. You are responsible for what happens on your account, including anything your agents do with your answers.
4. Your AI model key
You bring your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini or another provider we support. We use it only to run the voice agent and operator on your line, for you.
Your provider bills you directly, under its own terms. We are not responsible for its charges, limits or outages.
5. Calls, recording and consent
Every call is with an AI voice agent, and it says so when the call starts. Calls are transcribed, and may be recorded, so your agents can act on what you said. By using ToneDown you consent to this.
If anyone else can be heard on your end of a call, you are responsible for telling them and getting their consent where the law requires it.
6. Plans and payment
Line is $19 a month with 100 minutes, Line Plus is $39 with 200 minutes and Line Pro is $99 with 600 minutes. Extra minutes cost 15¢ each on Line and Line Plus and 12¢ on Line Pro, billed at the end of the month. Extra numbers are $5 a month each.
Plans are paid in advance each month through Stripe. Prices do not include taxes where taxes apply. We will give you at least [30 days’] notice before a price change affects you.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel any time from your account. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for, and [we do not refund partial months]. Extra minutes already used are still billed.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or goes unpaid. Where we can, we will tell you first.
8. Acceptable use
Use ToneDown only for lawful purposes. Do not use it to harass anyone, commit fraud, send spam or place unwanted calls.
Only call your line from your own verified phone. Do not spoof caller ID, share access or try to get into someone else’s line.
Do not probe, overload or try to break the service.
ToneDown is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
9. Your content
The briefs, items, questions, answers and transcripts on your line are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run ToneDown for you.
10. Changes
ToneDown is new and will change. We may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will post the new version here and email you before it takes effect.
11. No warranty
ToneDown is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error free. AI voice agents and AI models can mishear, misunderstand or make mistakes, so check anything important.
12. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for actions your agents or your AI model provider take. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the [12] months before the claim.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [State], and disputes will be handled in the courts of [County, State].
